The History of Lighthouse
The history of the name lighthouses refers to the development of towers, buildings, or other structures as aids to navigation for maritime pilots at sea or on inland waterways.one of Our core partner, had a Holy Spirit-driven vision. He saw a portion of light emanating from the former National University (NUR-BUTARE) and expanding to encompass the entire city of Butare. This vision took root in our country and continues to spread all over the world.
The light of the world is Christ—Jesus Christ—and we believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ will spread throughout the world from Butare-Huye, Rwanda. This will lead to a final revival before the second coming of Christ. As stated in Matthew 24:14: "This gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
That is the reason behind naming our ministry center the Lighthouse.
The Lighthouse is now one of the larger buildings in Huye (as Butare was renamed in 2012). In 2015, it was opened for international ministry teams to rent out hotel and conference rooms. The goal is for the businesses within the ministry center to make CASR self-sufficient, requiring no American funds to carry on its ministries to all of South Rwanda.

Self-Sufficiency Initiatives
To achieve self-sufficiency, the Lighthouse Ministry Center includes four roadside shops, a 20-room hotel, a gym, and a sauna. These facilities support the center's mission while generating revenue to sustain ongoing operations. CASA continues to facilitate and sponsor mission teams from around the world, making significant progress towards self-sufficiency. View more about light house hotel
